AT1 Alberta corporate income tax software

Prepare the AT1 and its schedules, check them against Alberta's specifications and file them electronically with Alberta Tax and Revenue Administration (TRA).

Free to prepare — pay only when you file

Who must file

Alberta collects its own corporate income tax, so a corporation with a permanent establishment in Alberta files an AT1 with Alberta TRA, separately from its federal T2. Corporations that meet TRA's filing-exemption conditions do not have to file; the AT1 guide sets them out.

Deadline

The AT1 is due within six months of the end of the taxation year, the same as the T2. Tax owing is generally payable two months after the year end, or three months for a qualifying Canadian-controlled private corporation.

Frequently asked questions

Is the AT1 filed with the CRA?

No. Alberta administers its own corporate income tax: the AT1 goes to Alberta Tax and Revenue Administration, and the T2 goes to the CRA. AuraTax prepares and files both.

Is AuraTax approved to file the AT1 electronically?

Yes. Each tax year's AT1 in AuraTax carries the software approval code Alberta TRA issued for it.

How much does it cost to file a AT1 with AuraTax?

Preparing the return is free. You pay when you transmit it: one AT1 return at a time, or every return of every program with the yearly licence. Both prices are shown on this page and on the pricing page, before taxes.

Can I file the AT1 on a Mac or on Linux?

Yes. AuraTax runs in the browser, and the desktop app installs on Windows, macOS and Linux with the same programs, for files you prefer to keep on your own machine.
